DRAIV is operated by Steininger AG in Switzerland. We own the cars we rent, park them in ordinary Zurich streets, and let your phone do the part that used to need a desk.
Our story
Born from real rentals.
In 2024 we started renting out our own cars — first through car-sharing platforms in Switzerland. Every single rental taught us something: what's annoying, what's missing, and what people really need when they rent a car.
One thing became clear along the way: we never wanted to be just the platform. Not just the ones with the cars either. And certainly not a supplier for one piece of the chain. At DRAIV, the whole experience is ours — the cars, the technology, the app, the support. Everything from one source, everything our responsibility.
That also means: when something jams, we don't point at others. We take it personally — and make it better. That's exactly why we built DRAIV: keyless and digital, but personal when it matters.

We rent out our fleet through car-sharing providers and learn from every single rental.
We take over the whole chain.

We rent our own cars
DRAIV is not a marketplace matching you with somebody else's car. The fleet is ours, serviced by us and priced by us. That is why the car you booked is the car you get, rather than a category that gets resolved at a counter.
Four things we decided not to build
A counter
Every counter needs opening hours, and opening hours are exactly what breaks a rental when a flight runs late.
A key handover
Meeting somebody to collect a key puts two calendars in the way of one drive. The phone removes both.
A deposit
Blocking several hundred francs on a card for a week solves the company's problem by creating the customer's. We do not hold one.
A subscription
We rent cars, including for months at a time. Nothing renews on you, and when the rental ends the relationship ends with it.
Talk to a person
Support is real people, seven days a week from 07:00 to midnight, on WhatsApp, by phone or by email. English is fine. So is German. The company sits in Switzerland, the cars sit in Zurich, and the invoices come from Steininger AG.

Using a car through DRAIV was easier than we could have hoped for. The car was exactly where it was supposed to be at the expected time. The car was in great condition, and it was super comfortable. I made an error when I failed to account for a time zone change, and the issue was resolved in less than 5 minutes from when I messaged. I had a question while I was using the car, and again, I had an answer in minutes. After this experience, I can’t imagine ever renting from anywhere else. Thank you, DRAIV!

Das Buchungstool ist einfach zu bedienen, und im Buchungsprozess hat alles geklappt wie vorgesehen und wie gewünscht. Auch bei einem Änderungswunsch bezüglich des gebuchten Datums wurde mir rasch und unkompliziert weitergeholfen Ebenso wurde mir bei einem von mir im Auto vergessenen Gegenstand rasch, entgegenkommend und wiederum sehr unkompliziert weitergeholfen. Grosses DANKE nochmals dafür! ☺️ Ich miete regelmässig Autos auf verschiedenen Plattformen und ich kann DRAIV als ganzes, und Anton als Vermieter insbesondere, uneingeschränkt, guten Gewissens und wärmstens weiterempfehlen.
