The best car rental in Zurich depends on you
There is no single best provider. The city offers four models that fail in different ways, and five questions sort them faster than any review score.
Five questions worth asking before you book anything
Ask these of every provider you are considering, including this one. Four of the five are answered on a booking page, and the fifth tells you what happens when the trip does not go to plan.
When do you actually pick it up?
A counter closes. Ask for the opening hours of the branch, not of the company. A 21:40 landing against an 18:00 desk is a problem no daily rate can fix.
What gets held on your card?
Deposits in Zurich run from nothing at all to several hundred francs blocked for days. Ask for the number, not for the word standard.
What is the deductible if you damage it?
Every offer includes damage protection at some deductible. The useful question is what it costs to bring that deductible down, and whether you can do it while booking or only at the desk.
How many kilometres come with the day?
Some cars are unlimited and some are not, and the difference only shows up on the invoice. It belongs next to the car, before you pay.
Where does the car have to go back?
Same spot, a different branch, or anywhere inside a zone. This decides your last hour in Zurich more than the daily rate ever will.

I can’t begin to start with how phenomenal this service is. For context, my friend and I have traveled from South Africa and wanted to hire a car to experience the Swiss Alps, after a few days of searching, we realized just how expensive and inconvenient it is to rent from regular car hire services. We stumbled across Drive and were privileged enough to rent a car from Anton who made our experience world class. He was constantly available for contact when we needed him and incredibly helpful when it came to pick up and drop off. The cars quality was absolutely phenomenal and it really took our experience to the next level. I will definitely be back to rent cars through DRAIV, and more specifically, from Anton.

Das Buchungstool ist einfach zu bedienen, und im Buchungsprozess hat alles geklappt wie vorgesehen und wie gewünscht. Auch bei einem Änderungswunsch bezüglich des gebuchten Datums wurde mir rasch und unkompliziert weitergeholfen Ebenso wurde mir bei einem von mir im Auto vergessenen Gegenstand rasch, entgegenkommend und wiederum sehr unkompliziert weitergeholfen.
