Virtuo, Miles, Getaround, Share Nowin Switzerland?
No. Virtuo, Miles, Getaround and Share Now do not list Switzerland among their markets. What exists here instead: station-based car sharing (Mobility), peer-to-peer rental (GoMore), classic rental counters, and app-based rental such as DRAIV.

The Short Answer
Who fits which case, in the Swiss market.
App rental with no counter: DRAIV
You want to rent a car in Switzerland with no counter
Virtuo, Miles, Getaround and Share Now do not list Switzerland among their markets. DRAIV rents cars around Zurich by app, and cars available for instant booking open with your phone.
Short trips in town: Mobility
You need a car for a few hours in the city
For hourly rental with return to the same station, Mobility is the established option in Swiss cities. Comparison: DRAIV and Mobility (in German).
Wide peer-to-peer choice: GoMore
You want a wide choice of privately owned cars
GoMore rents out privately owned cars in Switzerland, including since it combined with Getaround Europe.

What Each App Means in Switzerland
What a traveller knows each app for, what applies in Switzerland instead, and where another Swiss option fits better than DRAIV.
Virtuo
Renting straight from the app, with no staffed counter, in French cities.
Virtuo lists only France as an active market.1
Virtuo has exited the UK, Spain, Portugal, Germany and Italy, according to its own FAQ. The page gives no date for it.
Renting by app around Zurich with no counter is what we do.
MILES
Car sharing with free-floating drop-off inside a service area, in German cities.
MILES lists 14 cities, all in Germany.2
Zurich, Geneva and Basel are not on the list.
Getaround
Renting privately owned cars by app, known in France and Germany.
Getaround does not list Switzerland among its markets.3,4,5
Since the merger with GoMore, announced 5 May 2026, peer-to-peer car rental in Switzerland runs under the GoMore brand at gomore.ch. Getaround stays the brand in France, Belgium, Germany and Norway.
For a wide choice of privately owned cars in Switzerland, GoMore is the closest fit (in German).
SHARE NOW
Spontaneous free-floating car sharing in several European cities.
"SHARE NOW is Free2move", in Free2move's own words.6,8,7
The Share Now brand was folded into Free2move in 2024. Free2move car-sharing lists about 15 European cities, none of them Swiss.
If you want to go spontaneously: cars available for instant booking with us are confirmed the moment you pay. You bring the car back to where you picked it up, not anywhere in the city.
Need to return the car somewhere other than where you picked it up (one-way)? A classic rental counter is often the only option for that, for example at Zurich Airport. App-based services such as DRAIV or Mobility are built around returning to the same place. Cars around Zurich rent directly from DRAIV by app.
